Information about fees, session frequency and other practicalities
If you decide to book an initial consultation session with me, I will ask you a few questions to help me understand what brings you to therapy and what your hopes and expectations might be. I will also introduce myself and my way of working and answer any questions that you may have. If I believe I can help and you are happy to go forward, we can book in some further sessions.
Therapy or counselling requires a regular commitment to work well and most clients will commit to weekly sessions, generally at the same time each week. This regularity provides a structure and sense of safety that helps facilitate the process.
The duration of the treatment very much depends on your concerns. If you want to address or process a life event or change, 6-12 sessions can be sufficient, but if you are working on underlying patterns or issues it is usually helpful to work in a more open-ended way which can be reviewed on a regular basis.
I am an experienced group facilitator and have set up and run art psychotherapy groups in a variety of settings, with people recovering from addiction; with offenders in a forensic setting; inpatients in mental health facilities; as well as self-development groups for those curious to explore through art. Please contact me if you are interested to find out more or would like me to facilitate a group.
I work with adults only. If you are looking for (art) therapy for under 18's, I would be happy to refer you to a local child psychotherapist or counsellor.
I charge £75.00 per 50-minute session. Fees for group facilitation and longer sessions are available on request.
I am a registered practitioner with a number of insurance companies (AXA, Aviva, Vitality, Cigna).
